Affinity Magazine is one of the largest teen-ran websites in the world, dedicated to helping teens get early experience in journalism, learn writing skills, and communication with others. Since its launch in 2013, over 8.5 million people from over 200 countries have engaged with the site’s content. Over 400 contributors worldwide cover topics relating to feminism, LGBT+, race, politics, mental health, and entertainment.
The goal of this project is to design a printed publication as a special or limited edition to support an epub. The outcome of this project is a 2020 Year in Review 'Best of' Annual Publication. This would be an annual publication that includes selected pieces from the year. It would consist of 12 articles, one for each month and chosen by the readership. The selection process would happen online. Each reader can 'vote' at the bottom of the article whether they think it should be included in the year in review. This is a student project completed in 2020.
